 Thakur
Junior College was started in 1992 in order to cater to the needs of students
passing SSC examination from the schools in and around Kandivali including those
from Thakur Vidya Mandir which has already established itself as one of the
leading schools in the area. With an initial strength of 60 students in one
division of F.Y.J.C. (Commerce) class in 1992, the college witnessed a
spectacular growth over the years, presently accommodating more than four
thousand students in Commerce and Science streams. The college is poised to
become one of the prominent Junior Colleges in the city of Mumbai |

 As
a natural consequence of the immense confidence reposed by the students and
their parents in the Junior College, Thakur Degree College was established in
1997 to absorb the increasing number of students from the Junior College and
provide continuity in their pursuit of higher education. In June, 1999 the
Junior and Degree Colleges were shifted from Thakur Vidya Mandir premises in
Thakur Complex to a new, spacious, five-storied building in Thakur Village with
proper infrastructure ensuring right environment for the overall integrated
development of students. The Degree College, affiliated to the University of
Mumbai, is already making its mark in the field of academics, sports and extra
curricular activities. |

Thakur College of Science & Commerce has already
formed a nucleus for the educational complex with an Engineering College, an
Institute of Management Studies & Research and an Institute of Technology spread
over few acres of campus.
